Kaur was found guilty of taking the Sikh ceremonial knife, used by her son to stab finance student Henry Nowak to death on 3 December 2025 in Southampton, back to their family home. Judge William Mousley KC criticised Kaur for concealing the weapon's use instead of challenging her son, noting she placed it with other weapons in his bedroom. Vickrum Digwa was previously sentenced in June to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 21 years for Mr Nowak's murder, a sentence which the Solicitor General referred to the Court of Appeal as 'unduly lenient'. Digwa, his brother, and father have also pleaded not guilty to multiple weapons offences, including possessing 37 swords and other prohibited items, with their trial set for September 2027.
