Brazilian low-cost airline GOL starts first long-haul flights on Rio de Janeiro–New York route after Chapter 11 restructuring

Brazilian low-cost carrier GOL Linhas Aéreas has launched its first long-haul international route, a three-times-weekly nonstop service between Rio de Janeiro Galeão (GIG) and New York JFK, using Airbus A330 aircraft and signaling a new growth phase after exiting U.S. Chapter 11 restructuring in June 2025.
