Britain's economy rebounded slightly in May with growth of 0.1 percent thanks to expansion in the services sector, official data showed Thursday as Britain awaits a new prime minister.

The UK economy grew a sluggish 0.1 per cent in May as a boom in parts of the services sector helped prevent a contraction.

The Office for National Statistics said gross domestic product rose by 0.1% in May, following a 0.1% contraction in April.
