Isabel was born on 8 July, and her name pays tribute to Flora's paternal great-grandmother, Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent. Princess Marina, of Greece and Denmark, became a British princess upon her marriage to Prince George, Duke of Kent, in 1934. The baby is the first great-grandchild of Princess Alexandra, a cousin to the late Queen Elizabeth, and is expected to be 62nd in the line of succession to the British throne. Flora, an art historian, first announced her pregnancy in January; she married Timothy in a private ceremony in 2020, followed by a church blessing in 2021.
