Thousands of Jay-Z fans were left stuck outside Yankee Stadium for hours after an alleged security breach. The rapper’s final show in his three-night stint at the New York City venue did not kick off until the early hours of Monday (13 July) due to crowd safety concerns. Footage shows a swarm of fans hovering outside the stadium ahead of the show, which was meant to commence at 8pm. “Let me explain the delay to you guys,” Jay-Z said to fans after finally beginning the show. “It was like 10,000 people outside, and we closed all the doors, and somebody rushed the door. They closed the door for you guys’ safety and everyone’s safety outside.”

The singer took the stage after midnight and apologized for the delay, saying he was concerned that people might get trampled if he started early.
