He also previously admitted wounding his landlord Shahzad Farrukh and causing actual bodily harm to a 14-year-old boy during the same incident in Uxbridge on 27 October 2025. The prosecution accepted the manslaughter plea for Mr Broadhurst after medical experts confirmed Safi was experiencing an "abnormality of mental functioning" and had lost contact with reality. Safi will still stand trial for the attempted murder of Mr Farrukh and the teenage boy, despite the acceptance of the manslaughter plea. Safi, who entered the UK in 2020 and was granted asylum in 2022, also pleaded guilty to one count of possessing an offensive weapon.
