Mastermind behind €88m Louvre heist reportedly displeased by haul

The suspects, Abdoulaye N and Ghelamallah A, claimed a mysterious mastermind orchestrated the break-in, recruiting them just days before the event. They gained access to the Louvre's Apollo gallery via a furniture lift to a first-floor balcony, then smashed a window and used a power cutter to steal eight pieces of jewellery, including tiaras and necklaces. Abdoulaye N reported that the alleged mastermind was displeased with the haul, believing they "could have taken more" despite the record value of the stolen items. Both suspects refused to identify the alleged mastermind or any accomplices due to fears of reprisal, and investigators have not yet confirmed the involvement of other parties.
