Among the significant finds were 24 "golden tongues" placed in the mouths of some deceased, believed to aid communication in the afterlife. The newly unearthed tombs, comprising 11 rock-carved and 7 limestone surface burials, were found in an exceptional state of preservation. These cemeteries, likely part of the ancient city of Leukaspis, highlight the region's cultural diversity and the continuation of Egyptian funeral rituals into the Ptolemaic and Roman eras. Other artefacts include pottery, limestone altars, and a granite coffin containing the remains of a plaster sphinx, providing further insight into the period.
