NMCG restoring five wetlands in Ganga basin, plans to expand conservation efforts

The National Mission for Clean Ganga is restoring five wetlands across three states. Conservation efforts will expand to other high-priority wetlands identified scientifically. These wetlands play a vital role in maintaining river health and biodiversity. Scientific assessments have laid the foundation for phased restoration across the Ganga basin. The long-term objective is a basin-wide network of healthy floodplain wetlands.
