Ms Widdecombe's last known communication was a message sent at 12:19pm on Wednesday, 8 July, after which she failed to join a Zoom link for an interview. Police were called to her home by the ambulance service at 11:40am on Thursday, with reports suggesting she was discovered by her gardener or carer. A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Friday, 10 July, but was subsequently released on Saturday, 11 July, and is no longer part of the investigation.
