MUMBAI: Both sensex and Nifty ended 1% higher respectively on Friday, extending gains for the second day, aided by a rally in heavyweights Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank, and positive global cues. Easing crude oil prices and buying in IT stocks propelled the rally.

Sensex soared over 600 points, while Nifty reclaimed 24,000 as investor confidence rebounded amid rising oil prices and sustained foreign institutional investments.
