LONDON: Former Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham is expected to be made Labour leader next week and take office as Britain’s new prime minister on July 20, replacing Keir Starmer.

Burnham is highly likely to be announced as the new Labour leader July 17, and to become prime minister after a meeting with King Charles III on July 20.
