Ministry clears 191-strong CWG contingent; won't bear cost of team officials who're IOA EC members

The Sports Ministry approved a 191-member Indian contingent for the Commonwealth Games. This group includes 126 athletes and 51 team officials for the event. Expenses for elected Indian Olympic Association officials will not be covered by the government. Athletics and boxing teams have the largest support staff numbers approved. The ministry also mandated background checks for all contingent members.
