Fery also repeatedly challenged umpire Veljovic regarding what he perceived as several “obvious” let serves from Zverev that were not called, questioning the officiating standards during the match. The absence of a net-cord machine, which would automatically detect serves touching the net, was explained by former British No 1 Tim Henman, who stated that previous technology “didn't work” and the producing company went bankrupt.
