Known as 'The Great Gambo', Gambaccini has been a broadcaster on BBC Radio since 1974, working across Radio 1, Radio 2, and Greatest Hits Radio. Despite the diagnosis, Gambaccini stated that 'life goes on normal' and he intends to continue hosting his shows on BBC Radio 2 and Greatest Hits Radio. He and his husband, Christopher Sherwood, are receiving support from the Alzheimer's Society, and Gambaccini expressed gratitude for the kindness he has received. The Alzheimer's Society hopes Gambaccini's decision to share his diagnosis will encourage others to recognise symptoms and seek early diagnosis for better treatment and support.
