By Elwely Elwelly, Nayera Abdallah and Tala RamadanDUBAI, July 9 (Reuters) - Iranian armed forces launched attacks on U.S. military infrastructure in Gulf states on Thursday following U.S. strikes on Iran's southern coastal and eastern provinces, putting further strain on a three-week-old ceasefire agreement.

The regional crossfire raised the risks that an interim agreement to halt fighting in the war could break down, putting the Middle East again at risk of a wider conflict.

The US had launched strikes on Iran on Tuesday, after three commercial vessels were attacked in the Strait of Hormuz.
