The Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo has claimed 600 lives, according to the World Health Organization, just days after the death toll passed 500. Since the outbreak was declared in May, 1,759 confirmed cases have been recorded, with the virus spreading mainly through Ituri province.
