Nersa grants Limpopo municipality electricity trading, distribution facility operation licences

The National Energy Regulator of South Africa (Nersa) has granted the Lepelle-Nkumpi local municipality, in Limpopo, a licence to operate an electricity distribution facility and a licence to conduct electricity trading. The licences relate to the areas of Jackinland, Lebowakgomo Unit R and Motantanyane, which have been earmarked for electrification and are classified as greenfield sites in line with Nersa’s Rules for Distribution Licensable Areas of Supply.
