India is set to launch its first hydrogen-powered train from Jind, Haryana. Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate the landmark green initiative on July 17. Following the flag-off, the train is expected to begin commercial operations on the Jind–Sonipat route, operating two round trips daily. The train uses hydrogen fuel cells to generate electricity and emits only water vapour, making it a cleaner alternative to conventional diesel-powered trains.
