Former public health official Abdul el Sayed and Rep. Haley Stevens (D-MI) are the two remaining Democrats in the primary race.

The debate comes days after a third candidate, Mallory McMorrow, suspended her campaign.

Rep. Haley Stevens pitched herself as a “workhorse” on Capitol Hill. Abdul El-Sayed said he represents “a threat to politics as usual.”

The debate showcased the Democratic Party's divide on whether to focus on an anti-establishment message or opposition to Trump.
