Bengaluru is set to build a Rs 5.5 crore pedestrian subway connecting Swatantra Palya with Sampige Road Metro station, giving thousands of commuters a safer alternative to crossing active railway tracks. The project, funded by South Western Railway, is expected to be completed by January 2027 and improve connectivity across nearby neighbourhoods.

The proposed subway is expected to benefit residents of Seshadripuram, Okalipuram, Srirampura and Malleswaram.
