Water discharge begins from Khadakwasla dam in Pune after heavy rainfall in catchment areas

Heavy rains in Pune's catchment areas are causing water release from Khadakwasla dam. This discharge into the Mutha river has led to water-logging in low-lying city areas. Officials reported that at least five families were moved to safer locations. Incessant rainfall has been observed over the past three days in Pune and surrounding ghat sections. Water is currently being released from the dam at 27,203 cusecs.
