Sam Ryder, the Eurovision 2022 runner-up, makes his West End debut in the lead role of Jesus, with Lloyd Webber praising his vocal performance. The production features a substantial cast of approximately 30 performers and a live 19-piece orchestra, creating a highly staged rock concert experience. The role of King Herod is shared by a rotating cast of notable actors, including Boy George, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Matt Bomer, Richard Armitage, and Omid Djalili. Jesus Christ Superstar is playing at the London Palladium until 5 September, before transferring to the Theatre Royal Drury Lane from 16 October to 9 January.
