Iran condemned the US actions as a breach of a memorandum of understanding signed in June and warned of taking “decisive measures” in response. US Central Command said its forces struck over 80 targets, including command-and-control networks, coastal radar sites, anti-ship missile capabilities, and more than 60 Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps small boats. Iranian state media reported explosions in several southern Iranian locations, including Sirik and Qeshm Island, claiming most strikes hit civilian areas and caused injuries. The escalation follows the US revoking a temporary sanctions waiver that had allowed Iran to export oil, further heightening tensions between the two countries.
