The DSA has had big wins in Colorado and New York primaries

The Democratic Socialists of America topped 120,000 members as the U.S. celebrated its 250th Independence Day, the group said.

While establishment Democrats argue socialists are confined to the coasts, DSA chapters have helped elevate more than 300 candidates nationwide.

There is a Democratic Party debate over whether recent DSA wins can translate into success beyond deep-blue strongholds in the midterm elections.
