The Dakshina Kannada district administration has declared a holiday for children from anganwadis to class 12 on Wednesday in view of the India Meteorological Department declaring a red alert for extremely heavy rainfall on Wednesday.

Primary schools, high schools and anganwadi centres in Koppa, Sringeri, Mudigere, Tirthahalli, Sagar and Bhadravati taluks remained closed on July 7.

Schools and colleges were closed in parts of Karnataka due to heavy rain, while work from home was ordered in Maharashtra under an IMD alert | Education News
