LONDON: Palestinian rescue teams recovered the bodies of eight people on Monday from rubble in Gaza City as the death toll from the Israel war rose to 73,098 since October 2023. The bodies belong to members of the Safadi family, who lived in a house in the Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza City. The building was hit by an Israeli airstrike, according to the Palestine News Agency. At least 173,571 people have been injured, and more than 11,000 are still missing, believed to be buried under rubble since the outbreak of war in Gaza in late 2023.

A further nine bodies were recovered from under the rubble, according to Gaza's Ministry of Health.
