'Bhang is not ganja': Man arrested with 11 kg of 'suspected drug' walks free after Jharkhand HC says NDPS Act does not ban bhang

Bhang not ganja: The Jharkhand High Court has acquitted a man convicted under the NDPS Act for allegedly carrying 11 kg of ganja, after a Forensic Science Laboratory report established that the seized substance was bhang and not ganja. The court held that bhang falls outside the definition of cannabis under the NDPS Act and cannot be treated as a punishable offence under it.
