Australian Police sources have confirmed to the ABC that cannibalism will form part of an investigation into the death of a four-year-old boy on the New South Wales Central Coast.

The boy’s body was found in an extremely confronting scene after his mother arrived at a police station of her own accord.

A retired judge will investigate if more could have been done to protect the boy as police conduct forensic tests for signs of cannibalism.

A 32-year-old woman, who can't be identified for legal reasons, went to Wyong Police Station of her own accord and allegedly said she had consumed parts of her son.

Officials added that they are holding "discussions" with the mother and are considering a case of cannibalism as part of the investigation. | World News
