NEW DELHI: Oil companies are looking to step up LPG purchases from the US from the current level of 2.2 million tonnes a year, as they seek to maintain a diversified sourcing portfolio and consciously reduce dependence on the Gulf.

The US retained its position as India's top LPG supplier in June, with imports rising 19.4% from May to 773.78 thousand metric tonnes, per Kpler data.
