Australian Police sources have confirmed to the ABC that cannibalism will form part of an investigation into the death of a four-year-old boy on the New South Wales Central Coast.

The young boy was discovered with significant arm injuries by officers responding to a concern for welfare.

A 32-year-old woman visited Wyong Police Station, on the NSW Central Coast, at 4.40pm on Saturday.
