In a stunning twist ahead of USA’s World Cup Round of 16 match against Belgium, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee has confirmed that United States men’s national team striker Folarin Balogun will be eligible to play.

U.S. soccer star Folarin Balogun has had his World Cup ban suspended by FIFA, making him free to play in the United States' round of 16 game against Belgium on Monday.

On Sunday, FIFA unexpectedly suspended the mandatory one-match ban stemming from Balogun's recent red card, providing a massive boost to the USMNT.

“The implementation of the match suspension is suspended for a probationary period of one year,” FIFA announced Sunday.
