Footage captured by club director Martin Oswell showed the animal, which had escaped from a nearby farm, running around the field and charging at players. The North East Premier League fixture was eventually called off as attempts to remove the "spooked" young bull proved futile. Mr Oswell initially found the situation "quite novel" and "quite funny" before realising it would lead to the game's abandonment. The bull later left the pitch "of its own accord" before police arrived at the scene.
