The United States is rapidly building what it calls a “smart wall” on the Mexico border, combining tall steel fencing with advanced technology like sensors and cameras

PHOENIX (AP) — For decades, all that separated the U.S. from Mexico was barbed wire.

The 30-foot-tall steel fencing will include an array of sophisticated technology like sensors, cameras and towers allowing Border Patrol to surveil the territory.

CBP is building 6 miles a week while deploying AI towers and sensors, reviving a once-failed “virtual wall” model as oversight concerns grow.
