The trial involving former domestic workers of Nigeria’s former First Lady, Patience Jonathan, suffered another setback on Friday after one of the defendants failed to appear in court, forcing the presiding judge to adjourn the case until July 28, 2026. A source familiar with the proceedings told SaharaReporters that the defence was expected to conclude on Friday, but the absence of the eighth defendant, Boma Oba, reportedly a brother and family relative of the former First Lady, stalled the hearing.
