As Orica decided to proceed with its hydrogen hub in New South Wales, Mitsubishi signed a purchase deal with Acme for 100,000 tons per year of green methanol from 2030. At the same time, the Danish-South African SAF collaboration hit a roadblock.

The renewables-based hydrogen project in NSW is backed by more than $500 million of government funding for upfront capex and to offset higher production costs.

Just two projects were funded under Hydrogen Headstart and one has just reached FID, with work to start imminently.
