Pubs and licenced venues around Victoria will be allowed to stay open all night on Friday into Saturday so Socceroos fans can watch the do-or-die World Cup clash with Egypt.

Licensed pubs and clubs will be allowed to trade between 3am and 7am on Saturday for the match – only the third time the men’s team have made the do-or-die stages of the World Cup.

The trial changes to licence laws will allow venues to apply to open from 3am to 7am to broadcast the game.

The state government has granted every pub in Victoria the licence to open for pre-sunrise screenings of the Socceroos game.
