Russia launched a large-scale overnight missile and drone attack on Kyiv, forcing residents to shelter in subway stations as powerful explosions rocked the Ukrainian capital, sparking fires across multiple districts and causing an apartment building to collapse.

The large-scale attack with ballistic and cruise missiles and drones damaged buildings and civilian infrastructure across the city. Many residents took shelter at metro stations.

Fires broke out in Kyiv’s Shevchenkivskyi district as officials warned of a multi-wave Russian attack on the capital.

The overnight barrage came after Ukraine carried out two long-range strikes inside Russia, targeting an oil refinery and a military facility.
