Uttarakhand has been fully covered by the Southwest Monsoon, bringing much-needed rain and a significant drop in temperatures across the state. However, the meteorological department has issued an 'Orange Alert' for heavy to very heavy rainfall in five districts, including Dehradun, for Thursday. Authorities are on high alert, urging residents and pilgrims to heed advisories and report any emergencies promptly.

Monsoon returns to Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts with heavy rain; orange alert issued for coastal Karnataka until July 6.

With the intense rainfall activity, MeT department officials said that maximum temperatures are likely to fall by 3-5 degrees over many parts of the state during the next 4-5 days
