The WTA Finals, the traditional season-ender for women's tennis, has been switched this year from Riyadh to Indian Wells, the women's tour announced in a statement on Wednesday.

The event has been held in several locations in the past, including Singapore (2014-18), China (2019) and Mexico (2021).

The 2026 tournament had been slated to be in Riyadh, as the last of three editions in the Saudi capital.

The WTA had a three-year deal with the Saudi Tennis Federation to host the WTA Finals in Riyadh which would have ended this year.
