The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved ₹14,115 crore worth of highway infrastructure projects in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. The package includes an 8.1-km six-lane tunnel connecting the Dwarka Expressway with Nelson Mandela Marg in Delhi at a cost of ₹6,969.67 crore, aimed at easing congestion and improving connectivity to IGI Airport, Dwarka and South Delhi. The Cabinet also cleared the 117.7-km Kanpur–Kabrai access-controlled highway in Uttar Pradesh, estimated at ₹7,145.14 crore, which will form part of the Bhopal–Kanpur Economic Corridor.
