Originally, it referred to a lanyard whip used by Congo’s Belgian colonisers for corporal punishment. These says, it is more of a playful, rallying cry, stemming from a 2015 song by Felix Wazeka, Leopards Fimbu na Fimbu. The dance was seen when Congo scored their opening goal of the tournament, after Yoane Wissa scored to equalise against Portugal. In a viral clip, Zlatan Ibrahimovic performed the dance during his punditry work with Fox Sports, inviting fellow stars Thierry Henry and Alexi Lalas to join him.
