Serena Williams was back playing at Wimbledon at the age of 44 but the 23-time Grand Slam winner was sent packing in the first round on Centre Court

Tennis legend Serena Williams, 44, is gearing up to play her first singles match in nearly four years, after accepting the tournament's final wildcard earlier this month.

Willams stint at The All-England Club was cut short after a first round exit at Wimbledon 2026.

The 44-year-old Williams played in her first singles match since the 2022 US Open and was greeted by raucous cheers.
