Serena Williams' children watched on in the Wimbledon crowd as she made her return to grand slam tennis with a first-round match against Maya Joint on Centre Court on Tuesday (30 June). The 23-time grand slam singles champion, 44, has returned to the All England Club for the first time in four years. Williams has not played singles since her third-round loss to Ajla Tomljanovic at the US Open in 2022. She has avoided using the word "retirement," instead saying she was “evolving away” from tennis. Her daughters Olympia, 8, and Adira, 2, watched on with their father, Alexis Ohanian, as Williams took on Joint.
