South Africa's Vodacom completes purchase of an additional 15 percent stake in Safaricom.

The pan-African telecom operator's shareholding in Safaricom has increased to 55%, enabling consolidation of its telecoms, financial services and technology businesses.

The deal reshapes Safaricom’s ownership structure, leaving the Kenyan government with a 20 percent stake in the telecommunications giant.

All conditions precedent to the transaction have now been fulfilled or waived
