The Trump administration has expanded access to nicotine products despite concerns from public health critics about youth use and addiction.

The FDA said the decision was based on scientific evidence that the Zyns expose users to much fewer harmful chemicals than cigarettes.

The FDA announced Tuesday that it will allow the maker of ZYN nicotine pouches to advertise some of its products as safer to use than cigarettes.

Twenty flavored ZYN products are included in the authorization, which says the pouches put users at lower risk for several health problems compared to smoking.
