Despite a 0 per cent net favourability rating, Mr Burnham holds a higher popularity than any other party leader, with 45 per cent of respondents having no opinion of him. Luke Tryl of More in Common noted that Britons are open to hearing Mr Burnham's ideas, but expect him to present a clear vision for his government and tangible changes for the country. Following his first major speech since announcing his Labour leadership bid, Mr Burnham proposed a radical 'rewiring' of Britain, including transferring power to regions, expanding public ownership, and a substantial council house building programme, overseen by a new 'No10 North' in Manchester. The poll also indicated that only 11 per cent of voters believe Mr Burnham should retain most current ministers, with a third favouring keeping some and 36 per cent preferring to change most.
