The weeklong hearing, commencing on 6 July, will be the first time Kirk's family is present in court with Robinson, who is accused of the conservative activist's murder. Prosecutors will present evidence to establish sufficient grounds for a trial, with the intention of seeking the death penalty if Robinson is convicted of aggravated murder. Robinson, 23, is charged with the murder of Kirk, who was shot on 10 September while speaking at Utah Valley University; Robinson has not yet entered a plea.
