KwaZulu-Natal Cogta MEC hands over more vehicles to traditional leaders amid criticism

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs has begun the second phase of its vehicle roll-out to traditional leaders, with 35 more bakkies and SUVs being distributed this week. While MEC Thulasizwe Buthelezi says the initiative is aimed at professionalising traditional leadership, the programme continues to face criticism over alleged political motives, maintenance costs and tax implications.
