Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge takes oath as member of Rajya Sabha

Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge has taken his oath as a Rajya Sabha member after his successful re-election from Karnataka. He was among four candidates, including three from Congress and one BJP nominee, declared elected unopposed to fill the four vacant seats from the state. The terms of the outgoing members, including Kharge and former PM H.D. Deve Gowda, concluded on June 25, prompting the elections.
